Changelog

What we shipped, newest first — written in terms of what it means for your business rather than what changed in the code.

Tip

Every entry here traces to a real shipped change. We do not pad this page with announcements, and we do not list things we have not actually released.

Texts Prybar sends on your behalf now appear in the conversation

When Prybar sends an automatic message — a reminder, a follow-up, a review request — it now lands in the customer's conversation thread instead of only in a log. You can see the whole relationship in one place, including the messages you did not personally send.

Voice

Voicemail detection on callback calls

When Prybar calls a missed caller back and a machine answers instead of a person, it now recognises that, leaves a short voicemail, and moves on — rather than sitting in silence or retrying a voicemail box as if nobody had picked up.

Dashboard

Contact details captured at the start of signup

Signup now asks for your email and phone at the beginning and completes in a single step. Fewer screens between you and a working business line.

Reliability

Callback calls can no longer sit in silence

We found and fixed a class of failure where an outbound call connected but no audio ever started, leaving the caller listening to nothing. Every call leg is now bounded: if audio does not start, the call ends and is retried or texted instead. No unbounded silence is possible.

Voice

Prybar no longer calls you back as if you were a lead

An outbound dialer bug could place a callback to one of your own business numbers. Callbacks now check the destination against your own lines first and skip them.

Voice

Faster greeting on voice calls

We overlapped the parts of call setup that used to run one after another. Measured greeting latency dropped from about 2.6 seconds to about 2.3 seconds.

AI assistant

The AI can no longer do calendar math for your customers

On a live call, the assistant was given no knowledge of today's date and asked the caller to work it out. It now receives real date context, so "this Friday" resolves correctly without the customer doing arithmetic.

Reliability

SMS health alerts report real failures, not retries

Our delivery alarm counted every send attempt as a separate message, so one briefing that retried four times could page you with "4 messages failed to deliver" when nothing was actually lost. The alarm now counts messages.

Reliability

Blocked phone numbers no carrier could route

Our send guard was accepting a set of phone numbers that no carrier can deliver to — we measured 1,653 doomed attempts. These are now rejected before a send is attempted.

Billing

Billing status tells the truth

The billing badge on your settings page showed a green "Active" pill for accounts whose trial had already ended, directly above a banner saying the trial had ended. The badge now reports real subscription state, and the total is itemised when the voice add-on is on the account.

Reliability

Household and duplicate-record repair

We audited for customer records linked to the wrong business and duplicate household entries, then repaired them. Your customer history is now consistent across appointments, jobs, and messages.

Reliability

Automated owner alerts are now confirmed, not assumed

Alerts sent to you — emergencies, missed visits, billing problems — were fired and forgotten. Every alert is now delivered through one audited path that records whether it actually reached you, so a silent failure cannot hide.

Reliability

Emergency and after-hours escalations reach you reliably

The emergency chain that pages you for urgent calls was fire-and-forget. It now awaits delivery and records the result, so an urgent customer request is never quietly dropped.

13 September 2026

Reliability

Stronger protection against fraudulent signups

We added layered checks that stop bad actors from obtaining a phone number through Prybar — including verification-phone checks, an approval step for accounts without a card on file, and fleet-wide rate limits. This protects our ability to keep offering service to real businesses.

Billing

Billing gate for expired trials

When a trial ends without a subscription, Prybar now stops answering calls and texts for that business rather than continuing to serve for free, and resumes immediately on subscribe. Skipped work stays queued and resumes rather than being lost.

Voice

Live voice engine upgrade

Voice calls moved to a newer, lower-latency voice engine with 13 studio-quality voices. Switching voices costs no added latency because they are preloaded server-side.

Billing

Payments and money messaging audited end to end

We verified that every money-related message — payment links, invoice totals, retries — states the real amount from Stripe rather than a calculated guess, and that retries are idempotent so a customer can never be double-charged.

AI assistant

The AI answers in Spanish when your customer writes in Spanish

Language detection now carries through the whole conversation, including voice. A customer who writes in Spanish gets Spanish back, in the same tone.

AI assistant

Service-area and out-of-scope answers

Questions like "do you work on Sundays?" or "are you in San Francisco?" are now answered from your real hours and service area rather than a guess, and questions outside your trade are politely deflected instead of improvised — with genuine safety issues (gas, carbon monoxide) routed to emergency guidance.

Dashboard

Missed visits alert the owner

If an appointment passes without the customer showing, you now get an alert instead of finding out later.
